Grape Hyacinths(Muscari) are easy to grow
and sure to please. They are ideal for borders, rock gardens, naturalizing, in
containers, or co-planting with tulips or daffodils. If left undisturbed, they
multiply rapidly. Their dense clusters of little round flowers look like tiny
bunches of blue grapes. The muscari bloom for weeks and usually bloom in April
or May. They are hardy in USDA Zones 3 - 9. Plant the bulbs 2 - 5 inches deep
and 2 - 4 inches apart. Plant them in full sun or light shade. The muscari
armeniacum produces fragrant flower clusters of rich royal blue. |
